Sound Effect Generator
Type a description, get a downloadable .mp3 sound effect. Three duration tiers — Short stings, Medium impacts, Long ambiences.
- Before you start
- A description of a sound.
- What you end up with
- A downloadable .mp3.
Step by step
-
Describe the sound
Say what makes it and what happens — "a heavy iron door dragging open over stone". Onomatopoeia works less well than the physical description.
-
Pick a duration tier
Short for stings and UI clicks, Medium for impacts, Long for ambiences. Tick loop for anything that has to run continuously.
Made with this tool
Described in words, rendered as a game-ready effect. Press play.
Worth knowing
- Name the material and the size. "Small wooden", "huge metal" change the result far more than adjectives like "epic".
- For footsteps and repeated hits, use the Foley tool — it gives you variations so the repetition does not become obvious.
